San Sebastian, or Donosti as it is called in Euskera, the Basque language, invites students to stroll in the half-encircled promenade of the famous and breathtaking shell-shaped La Concha Beach.  While visiting the old quarter of San Sebastian, La Parte Vieja, students can meander through its many plazas, narrow streets, medieval buildings, and hundreds of bars where they can sample delicious tapas. To get to San Sebastian from Barcelona by bus, train, plane and car, I think the best choice would be the train, as is the easier and cheapest way. It would take 8h (there's also an overnight train) and 38euro, better than the plane (135euro or more, 1h 30min) or the bus (more than 8h!). Hiring a car only for the travel to San Sebastian can be a bit expensive, but if you're using it a few days, it can become profitable. |
