Maremagnum is a 22,000²m shopping center in the port of Barcelona. It is a recent development of the great city center retail experience, built in the early 1990's and updated in 2004. Inside the complex is a mixture of fashion and beauty stores, gift and memorabilia shops, and a good selection of cafe and restaurants.

The center has over 12 million visitors each year, and it is used both by locals and visitors alike. Even id you are not so interested in shopping the surrounding area is a very nice place to explore. It is adjacent to the Columbus monument at the end of Las Ramblas, right in front of the waterfront. The fish that swim up to the promenade in search of food always attract a lot of attention.

A visit to Maremagnum will put you close to some other great attractions such as Barcelona Aquarium, Las Golondrinas boat tours and the Imax cinema.

At night Maremagnum is a different place altogether, with a selection of bars and clubs, collectively known as 'The Village'. These are open until early in the morning, and are popular with Hen and Stag parties.
